Kyle Harris​

Kyle is the Lead Therapist at Unfurling Littles LLC.

 

Kyle was born and raised in the Pocono mountains. At a young age, he was introduced to the terms “disorder” and “disability” when his younger brother was diagnosed with Autism. Throughout his schooling, Kyle gravitated towards individuals on the spectrum; he would visit and assist in his school’s special education classroom and provide inclusionary opportunities as frequently as possible. In school, Kyle was a multi-sport athlete, and a member of the choir, band, and multiple clubs; these experiences have contributed to  knowledge he uses throughout sessions with learners.

 

Kyle attended Lock Haven University for his undergraduate degree where he first elected to major in Pre K-4/ Special Education teaching. Shortly after his sophomore year started, Kyle switched to Therapeutic Recreation after realizing he wanted to work with individuals of all ages and could do so in many ways in different environments outside of the classroom. In college, Kyle fell in love with the sport of rugby; its functions have played a major role in how he works with individuals in this field. The two he stands by are:

1. To advance forward you sometimes have to take a step back first

2. To truly accomplish a goal, everyone needs to be working together.

After graduation, Kyle accepted positions as an Activities Director, Recreation Therapist and Administration in a school setting,  but something was still lacking - getting to bring joy, laughter, and love from just being himself.

 

Kyle met Maggie through a mutual client and worked hand in hand for about a year prior to the opening of Unfurling Littles. Maggie was very insightful in teaching him different strategies, techniques and understandings of the work behavioral therapists partake in on a daily basis. When Maggie first opened Unfurling Littles, she reached out to Kyle and the rest is history.

 

Kyle's interests outside of work include working out at gyms, researching, both playing and watching sports, collectibles, sneakers, and most importantly, family. Family is at the forefront and Kyle takes advantage of any opportunity he gets to create new memories with them.
