About Us.
At Unfurling Littles, we believe every child deserves to grow in a space where they feel safe, seen, and celebrated. We began with a vision to reimagine ABA as connection, not compliance, and have since grown into a community where children, families, and staff can unfurl together.

Our approach blends child-led ABA, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and inspirations from Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf philosophies. Sessions take place in our preschool clinic, at home, at school, or out in the community and are always guided by joy, curiosity, and co-regulation.

As we expand, we’re excited to now offer mental health services, diagnostic evaluations, and afternoon social connection groups, creating even more ways for children and families to access affirming support.

Our values of belonging, dignity, and autonomy, shape everything we do. Families often tell us they feel the difference: here, children aren’t asked to change who they are, but supported to unfurl into who they’ve always been.
What funding sources does Unfurling Littles LLC accept?
We are currently in network with the following insurance companies: Quest, Independence Blue Cross (IBX), Aetna, Amerihealth, Highmark of PA , Magellan and Community Behavioral Health (CBH). If your network is not listed, please don't hesitate to reach out to confirm if we are in network with your provider. To streamline referrals, we are not enrolling in additional insurance plans at this time. An Autism Diagnosis is typically required for insurance funding.
How many hours of child-led ABA will you provide my child?
All of our services are individualized to meet your child's needs. There is no hourly requirement! We see some clients for 1 hour a month and others for 30 hours a week. Our goal is to provide a high quality service for less hours so you have more time to connect as a family. Our care model moves past the traditional tier system of ABA and offers direct hours with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). If additional support is needed, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) may be provided.
What is Neurodiversity-Affirming Care?
Neurodiversity-affirming care is an approach to therapy that embraces and values the natural variations in human neurology and behavior that exist within the human population. It seeks to challenge conventional notions of normalcy and instead encourages a celebration of diversity in neurology, including neurotypes like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
Hallmarks of Neurodiversity-Affirming Care include:
-
Purpose is to support and accommodate rather than teach to appear neurotypical
-
eye contact is never required
-
gestures, AAC use, gestalts/scripts, and signs are treated as equal to speech
-
-
Assent is honored
-
Lived experience (firsthand knowledge of the neurodivergent experience) is valued
-
Learner's opinion and perspective are centered when making treatment decisions
-
The risks associated with masking are considered in goals and session content
Do you have a waitlist?
It became impossible to provide families with an accurate time frame of how long they would be on our waitlist for due to our staff size and duration of services. Due to this, we implemented a new system. If a family contacts us and we do not have immediate openings, we share this openly and ask they call back at a later date. If we do have immediate openings, we talk through their current situation and review if we would be a good fit to meet their family and child's current needs.
What ages do you serve?
We support children aged 2-15 through our Child-Led ABA department. We are happy to support all aged humans through our mental health and diagnostic department.
How is your approach different from “traditional ABA”?
We are neurodiversity-affirming. This means we do not push compliance for compliance’s sake. Instead, we nurture autonomy, joy, and connection. We integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles, and we always prioritize dignity and assent in every interaction.
What qualifications do your staff have?
Our team includes Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Licensed Child Psychologist, and professionals trained in trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming care. Every staff member receives ongoing training, mentorship, and supervision to ensure they feel supported because when our staff thrive, so do our children.
What happens if my child says “no” or doesn’t want to participate?
We listen. A child’s “no” is an important communication, and we honor it. Our role is to invite, not force. We use curiosity, creativity, and play to re-engage when it feels right for the child, protecting both their autonomy and their sense of safety.
Do you offer diagnostic evaluations?
Yes. Our licensed clinicians provide autism and related developmental evaluations. Afterward, you’ll receive a full report with recommendations and support planning. We also connect families with resources and referrals, so you’re never navigating the next steps alone.
